A silver tribal bangle from Tibet

This Tibetan sterling grade silver tribal bangle has a large 35 x 23 mm oval lapis lazuli bezel set at its centre with a stylised motif of “Kirtimukha” heavily embossed on each side. Kirtimukha also know as the “monster mask” or “glorious face” is believed to ward off evil. The rest of the bangle is decorated with silver, rope, bead and wire work. The bangle is 48 mm wide at the top and tapers down to 20 mm wide at the open back, the weight is 78.7 gm. Allow for only minor flexing when fitting.
